May 2025 Break the Mold Recipient, Ockerman Middle School Resource Officer, Chris Saunders
Congratulations to Ockerman Middle School Resource Officer Chris Saunders. Deputy Saunders has been the SRO at Ockerman for nearly a decade. But it was his prior career that prepared him for the work he does now. He was once assigned to Presidential Security for President George W. Bush as a Marine. He served the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines as an Infantry Mortarman and was deployed to Afghanistan with the rank of Sergeant. In his current role as SRO he values relationships with students and goes beyond his law enforcement role by being involved with the students beyond school hours, participating in after-school events and projects.
