III.A. The 2025-26 Student Board Member, Mr. Andrew Wyckoff (AJ) will take the Oath of Office given by Honorable Judge JR Schrand.
Rationale

 

Andrew (AJ) Wyckoff from Conner High School was elected by his peers as the Student School Board Representative for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.  Mr. Wyckoff will be the 24th student representative elected to the Boone County School Board by student delegates of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC).  The SSAC was established as a venue for authentic student voice in 2002.  The Student Board Representative is a non-voting member of the Board of Education representing all students.  AJ Wyckoff will preside over the SSAC at the start of this school year.  Boone County Judge JR Schrand will issue the Proclamation.

III.C. Education Support Professional of the Year
Rationale

Congratulations to Transportation department employee Beverly Daniels!  She was awarded the Education Support Professional award of the year and will represent Kentucky next year in California at the National ESP awards. The Kentucky Education Association and the BCCEA leadership recently made a surprise visit to announce her award.


 

III.D. The Lifetime Service Award goes to….
Rationale

Helen Cottongim is the recipient of the Student Transportation Association of Kentucky’s Lifetime Service Award. She was nominated for the STAK Lifetime Service Award by Transportation Director Nick Greer. Congratulations Helen!  Helen has been with Boone County Schools Transportation Department for 53 years.  A few years ago we celebrated her 50 years in the district.  We are going to take a look down memory lane.


 

III.E. Kelly Elementary School Students Make a Difference in their Community
Rationale

Every year, Kelly Elementary gives back to the community by supporting a local non-profit. This year students, staff, and families in conjunction with the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 4 raised $10,000. Principal Kathleen Gutzwiller is here to explain.
