Boone County Schools Employee Receives NAACP President’s Award
Congratulations to FAST Team member Carol Alexander for winning the NAACP President's Award at the annual NAACP Freedom Fund Gala! The President's award is awarded each year to a person in the community for their outstanding community service and leadership. Mrs. Alexander works for Boone County Schools on the FAST Team where she visits homes of students who struggle to attend school. She is a strong advocate for children to be present at school everyday where they have the best chance for a successful outlook in life.
IV.E.
Jones Middle School Partnership with Local Company L'Oreal
Outside companies play a vital role in strengthening local schools by bringing in fresh resources, diverse expertise, and additional support that students and teachers might not otherwise have access to. When businesses volunteer their time or services, they help enrich learning experiences, build students’ confidence, and show young people how their community works together for their success. These partnerships also foster a sense of connection and shared responsibility, demonstrating that education is a community-wide effort and that everyone has a part to play in helping students thrive. This is the story of Jones Middle School and L'Oreal.
