Superintendent's Report- Verbal Report, at this time we plan to start school as normal as we distance as possible with no masks unless directed differently by the CDC or KY Dept. for Public Health. *Per my discussion with the local Health Department Director earlier today, the Delta varient going around at this point is making children and younger adults much sicker than the initial strain we have seen before to this point. We are encouraging the following based on the KY Department of public health recommendations: 1) Vaccination for those 12 and older who choose to do so (contact school at 797-3811 if you'd like vaccination info) 2) Masks- are encouraged for unvaccinated persons in the presence of others indoors 3) Social Distance as much as possible 4) Promptly initiate screening tests for those unvaccinated who are suspected of potential exposure 5) Use ventilation as much as possible in all areas 6) Continue teaching and reinforcing handwashing 7) Isolation- *Students, teachers and staff with fever or other Covid related symptoms *Anyone who tests positive must self isolate immediately *Direct sick persons to be tested 8) Schools work with health department to contact trace. *Quarantine as necessary *Fully vaccinated persons do not need to quarantine 9) Cleaning and disinfection- Continue this daily Additional recommendations: - Limit non-essential visitors if Covid numbers are elevated in the community - Follow KHSAA guidelines for athletics - Vaccinated individuals do not need to mask...unvaccinated persons should mask - Community transmission be used as a factor to implement or discontinue strategies as needed. *Seating charts are essential.
