Board Chair Julie Kuhnhein opened the meeting at 6:30pm.

• Santa House will take place before the next board meeting


• Choir concerts last week and band and strings concerts this week


• Beginning of the 2nd quarter


• PSAT and optional ACT will be given this week


• HHS student Elizabeth Clark achieved Top 10 at the TSA nationals


• Homecoming is next week


• HHS play will run October 30 - November 2


• Tower Park ribbon cutting details will be out soon

The Board congratulated the students and presented each with a Certificate of Achievement and a "Rich in Tradition" t-shirt.

HMS Teacher John Warford and four Engineering I students shared their experience with the new lab and two projects they have made using that lab.  Students included:

Chad Niedert shared that the Tower Park project is moving along with most of the work taking place indoors.  Indoor turf will be installed this week, and work will continue with interior construction.

Order #2691 - Motion Passed:  Approval of Change Order #6 in the amount of $37,883 for the Highlands Athletic Complex at Tower Park project passed with a motion by Mrs. Sarah Foster and a second by Mr. David Russell.

• Change Order 7

Order #2692 - Motion Passed:  Approval of Change Order #7 in the amount of $322,665 for the Highlands Athletic Complex at Tower Park project passed with a motion by Mr. Clem Fennell IV and a second by Mrs. Sarah Foster.

• Morel Pay App 15

Order #2693 - Motion Passed:  Approval of Pay Application #15 to Morel Construction Co. in the amount of $730,385.70 for the Highlands Athletic Complex at Tower Park Project passed with a motion by Mr. David Russell and a second by Mr. Clem Fennell IV.

• FY2026-Fort Thomas Independent Schools - 1st Offer

Order #2694 - Motion Passed:  Approval to accept and match the entire KETS Offer of Assistance amount at the present time of this offer and any subsequent offers up to a total of $21/ADA for the 2025-2026 school year with the KETS First Offer of Assistance being $34,755 passed with a motion by Mrs. Sarah Foster and a second by Mr. David Russell.

• Surplus Theatre Items

Order #2695 - Motion Passed:  Approval to surplus the attached list of HHS Theatre items passed with a motion by Mr. Clem Fennell IV and a second by Mrs. Sarah Foster.

Board member Clem Fennell shared that the Hall of Fame Committee needs recommendations from the community for future individual and team inductees.  Board member David Russell shared that HHS students shared ideas and participated in great conversations at the most recent Title IX meeting. 

• Summer enrich 2025

Jamee Flaherty shared the results of this year's Summer Enrichment programming, noting 27 classes were offered, hosting 336 students.
