Discussion

Ms. Kiefer announced that the seniors will be allowed to decorate their graduation caps this year. She also noted that AP exams will be the first and second week in May and the Little Libraries are ready to go but still need to be approved by the City.

7.B. DHS Principal's Report

Mr. Dodd discussed the percentage of students meeting benchmarks on the ACT. Students have improved in English, Math, and Reading this year. He also discussed the College Ready students and that this number has increased from last year as well.

Lastly, he discussed the online learning program and that we could potentially have the highest graduation rate this year.

7.C. LES Principal's Report

Mr. Duty announced that LES students have read over 11,000 books now. He also mentioned the success of the Beauty and the Beast performance last Friday, April 17th.

Mr. Duty noted that he will have MAP testing scores to share at next month's board meeting and the 5th Grade Living History Museum will be April 30th.

7.D. District Monthly Activities

Mr. Wolf noted that testing materials arrived and he has been preparing them all week. The KPREP testing will be May 11-15 for grades 3-8, 10, and 11.

Note: Mr. Wolf gave his report after the Student Board Representative and had to leave afterwards.

7.E. Attendance/Energy Management/Student Services/Transportation

Mr. Kinmon said transportation was up this month due to the DECA trip. Attendance dropped below 95% this month and enrollment was at 908 but back up to 917 today. For facilities, Mr. Kinmon noted that Project Cincinnati is coming May 16th to do landscaping at LES and DHS, repaint the hallways by the gym, and decorate the teacher's lounge at LES. The Dental Clinic and Student Health Clinics are going really well. The Health Clinic had 300 students sign-up.

7.F. Special Education/Early Childhood/Day Care

Ms. Howell announced that the Daycare is still full. The Preschool playground was recently inspected and there were a few minor issues that need to be fixed but nothing that would cause harm to the children. There was a great turnout at the Preschool Information Night and we now have 35 new students wanting to join our Preschool. She also noted that the Bellevue and Dayton Kindergarten Readiness Summit will be May 9th.


7.G. Food Service

Mr. Brewer noted that according to the Food Service Reconciliation report, we are bringing in good revenue. He also mentioned that LES is still working on being able to prepare their own food but there is a lot of planning left to do.

Mr. Stephen Wolnitzek was present in place of Mr. Matt DeMarcus. There was no report this month.
