4. Recognition
4.A. Graduation - Kenneth Brown
4.B. Retirement Recognition - Gina Byrd
4.C. Students of the Month - DMS/DHS
Rationale

Dayton High School would like to congratulate our October Students of the Month:
  • 7th Grade – Emily Hall
  • 8th Grade – Trinity Rankin
  • 9th Grade – Owen Overman
  • 10th Grade – JoAnna Taylor
  • 11th Grade – Juan Naranjo
  • 12th Grade – Brandon Skirvin

4.D. Athlete of the Month - Eric Jimenez
Rationale

Please join me in celebrating the Dayton High School athlete of the month.  Mr. Eric Jimenez has been a wrecking ball on the field for any Dayton football opponent.  In just our first 5 games, Eric has forced 4 fumbles, is credited for 17 solo tackles: countless assists and sacks.  He is simply a pleasure to watch play - unless, of course, he is coming after you ??.  Eric is also a hugely competitive member of the DHS track and field team.  More than his prowess on the field is his performance in the classroom.  Eric carries a 3.375 GPA and is currently taking dual credit classes at Gateway.  Eric desires - and no doubt will achieve - becoming a nurse.  He is a coach's dream as he is respectful, a leader and has an incredible work ethic and drive.  His passion to succeed shows in all areas of Eric's life.  Eric is the epitome of a Greendevil Student-Athlete and is a spectacular role model for his siblings and younger student-athletes.  DHS is super proud of "Big E".

4.E. Artist of the Month - Jozlyn Hundemer
Rationale

Please join me in celebrating the Dayton High School artist of the month.

Jozlyn constantly pushes herself in my class. If she doesn't like how her project looks, she will work on it until it is right. Other students ask her for help, she never belittles or makes them feel dumb for asking, she is quick to offer any assistance. They look at what she is doing and then try to push their work to be better. She is a positive light in the classroom, she always walks in smiling and never has anything negative to say. Hopefully she considers taking Art 3 next year, she would be great to have in class again and it would be wonderful to watch her skills grow further!
