Board members shared the following information:


  • Eclipse experience seemed to go well

  • FCCLA competed at state and have several advancing to Nationals

  • Nesties will be held this Thursday, April 11

  • Congrats to Elise Carter on her recent award from KDE

  • HHS performance of Damn Yankees received great reviews from community

  • FTEF awarded teacher grants just before spring break

  • JES Academic Team are Regional Champions

  • We the People leave for Nationals this week

  • In the Scholastic Writing Contest, we had 4 students receive Gold Key Recognition

  • The first HHS student developed podcast will have its first episode this week

I.B.2. HHS Forensics State Champion

HHS Forensics student, Sophie Uhl, shared her experience winning 1st place in the state competition in the Dramatic Interpretation category.  The Board congratulated her on her state championship and presented her with a Certificate of Achievement and a Champions t-shirt.

I.B.3. HHS TSA State Champions

The Board recognized Eliana Niese and Jack Wilson as TSA State Champions in the Data Science and Analytics Engineering category.  Eliana explained the AI project she and Jack worked on that won 1st place in the state.  The Board congratulated Eliana and presented her with a Certificate of Achievement and a Champions t-shirt.  The same will be forwarded to Jack, who could not attend the meeting.

I.C. Student Showcase - HHS: Strings

HHS Strings students performed an arrangement for the Board.  This moving performance was enjoyed by both the Board and the audience, and was a preview to their upcoming concert on May 2.  Students performing included:

  • Grace Wissman


The Board thanked the students for their performance and gave each a "Rich in Tradition" t-shirt.

Jerry Wissman shared that Phase I is roughly 2-4 weeks from completion depending on the weather.  Riegler anticipates a shorter completion with good working days.  Brian Robinson and Joe Hayes shared a PowerPoint presentation with the Board on Phase II, including renderings and architectural drawings of the new facility.
