Rationale

The mission of Beechwood Independent School District is to provide innovative education grounded in tradition.  Our educational vision is to inspire students to embrace responsibility, productivity and compassion of a global community.  Our vision is communicated to students, faculty, and our community by various media from the printed word to the internet and is exemplified by our district slogan:  Innovative education grounded in tradition.

II.B. Creation of a Charitable Funds Committee
Rationale

  • Purpose of Committee – The Charitable Funds Committee will oversee the use of the Horizon Funds, review any donation over $1,000 directly to Beechwood Schools, and annually review all donations from any agency or persons to any Beechwood Schools organization.
  • The committee will serve a one-year term from January 1 - December 31.
  • The Board will receive a biannual report from the committee on the Horizon Funds and an annual report on all other donations as stated above.
  • The committee will be comprised of two Board members, the Superintendent, the Board treasurer, and the district curriculum lead.

Rationale

bi3, Hopeful Empowered Youth (HEY!), Interact for Heath and The Joe Burrow Foundation awarded $1,000 for the high school to participate in activities commemorating World Teen Mental Wellness Day. The grant money will fund half of the speaking cost for Brandon Saho who will speak on February 20th.

III.H. Arts in Mind Grant through NKCES for 25-26 school year, Beechwood Elementary and Beechwood High School
Rationale

Arts in Mind Grant through NKCES – For the 25-26 school year, Beechwood Elementary and Beechwood High School will each receive:

  • $16,700 for arts materials
  • $6,500 for arts partnerships
  • $6,195 in arts professional development
