Congratulations to Miss Melissa Ramkissoon on her fully qualified offer of appointment by the U.S. Naval Academy, and Mr. Archie Jungblom on his fully qualified offer of appointment by the U.S. Military Academy. Both students will graduate from Madisonville North Hopkins High School in May.

The United States Naval Academy has approximately 15,000 students a year apply and the United States Military Academy has 12,000 students apply. Six percent of Naval Academy applicants receive an appointment, and 8 percent of Military Academy applicants receive an appointment. The average Composite ACT score for both institutions is 27. Congratulations to Melissa and Archie not only for their achievement but for volunteering to serve their country as future officers in the military.

"Operational Employee of the Month for March 2016"

The Operational Employee of the Month of March is William "Zack" Willett, Head Custodian at the Hopkins County Career & Technology Center.

Pam Todd, Principal recommends William “Zack” Willett for the Operational Employee of the month for March 2016.  Most people have commented how great moving into a new facility must be and how little there is to do since the building is new.  Yes, it is great, however, there is plenty to do BECAUSE the building is new.  Before we ever moved into the building, Zack was at the CTC day and night working along with others from Facilities assembling, moving, arranging, etc. all the classroom and office furniture.  I have watched him unload tractor trailers full of boxes of supplies and lab equipment, even in the snow and rain. He takes pride in the building and in making sure the students have a clean and safe school every day.  I know he works many nights and weekends preparing the facility for not only school activities, but also for community events.  We have only been in the building since November, but Zack knows every inch of the building from the sidewalks to the roof, inside and out.  He is proud of the CTC and works extremely hard to ensure the students, faculty/staff, board and public are proud of it as well.
