Work Session: Statewide Assessment Outcomes and Presentation on Equity Initiatives
I. Statewide Assessment Outcomes, Equity Initiatives, and District Support Systems
Rationale

Audio: 10 25 2016 Work Session 1

This work session will provide an overview of student outcomes on the state accountability model, as well as highlight progress on key equity indicators, and discuss the role of district supports in improving student learning for all students in order to achieve our mission outlined in Vision 2020 Excellence with Equity.

Dr. Dossett will begin by providing a summary of the district results for the state’s Unbridled Learning Accountability Model for the 2015–16 school year as compared with the previous years’ results. A few principals will highlight their school’s success and share their thoughts about what’s working in their building and what support they received/still need.  Next, Dr. John Marshall will focus on two components of the accountability model, literacy and college and career readiness, by comparing the 2013 equity scorecard with the 2016 scorecard. In doing so, he will also share some outcomes/initiatives that have taken place regarding eliminating achievement, learning and opportunity gaps (Strategy 1.1.7).  Lastly, Dr. Lisa Herring will introduce the design and purpose of the district's Academic Leadership Team. She will highlight opportunities for the strategic alignment and connection of the work needed to support schools.

This report addresses strategic goal: Deeper Learning
