The purpose of this report is to inform the Board of Education about progress and continuous improvement efforts related to Strategy 3.2 Foster Postsecondary Opportunities. 

This strategy ensures that the district will continue to work with community partners to identify and provide professional learning opportunities designed to build teacher capacity as well as provide college- and career-focused opportunities that meet student needs and interests and prepare them for the workforce and further education.

The goal for this strategic vision is to continue to leverage partnerships that align with the strategic plan and support improved student achievement across the district by:

• Cultivating partnerships with universities to support a “college finishing culture;”

• Refining partnerships to support the Third-Grade Reading Pledge;

• Solidify partnerships that support our 5-Star Network;

• Leveraging university resources to enhance the professional learning of teachers; and 

• Connecting with universities to improve quality in Early Childhood programs.
