5.B. Athlete of the Month - McKenzie Sullivan
Rationale

The Dayton Athletic Department has chosen McKenzie Sullivan as the Athlete of the Month for March 2023. McKenzie just wrapped up an excellent basketball season where she earned the team's Most Improved award. She is also in the Players to Watch for the Northern Kentucky area for the upcoming softball season for our predicted Top 10 Lady Devils Softball Team according to local news sources. 

Congratulations McKenzie! 

5.C. Artist of the Month - Rielee Chokie
Rationale

Congratulations to the March 2023 Artist of the Month, Rielee Chokie!

She comes in with a good attitude, tries her best, and completes her work even when the project is difficult. She is a student who is always willing to help out and guide others as well.

  • The drama department is performing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at The First Baptist Church.  Special thanks to Kyle Fitzgerald, Rob Collins, Nick Simon, and Matt Sumpter

  • Anna Karnes was chosen to be in the NKBDA Select Band

  • Hoxworth Blood Drive took place on March 28..  Thanks to Angie Buschle for organizing

  • The Junior class took the state ACT on March 8

  • 39 sophomore and senior students took the district ACT

  • Thanks to Beth Fields for taking 39 sophomores to Gateway for a campus tour

  • Fine Arts Festival will take place on March 30

  • Post secondary readiness currently stands at 42 out of 59 students.  9 more are on track to be post secondary ready

  • Property Acquisition - Abestos abatement is complete at API property. Waiting for final apartment building to begin demolition

  • Safety - Officer Brendel conducted a district side safety training and he will be attending statewide school training in the summer

  • Transportation - 20 extracurricular trips in February and 4 academic trips

  • Enrollment is currently at 760

Rationale

US Bank has invited students interested in IT and security to their office at US Bank Tower for a morning of meeting with folks in their Cyber Security division.  The high school helpdesk students will be participating on April 12, 2023.  This is in part a collaboration with Bellevue High School and their Director of Technology, Jim Seward. 

 

STLP Championship will be in person this year at Rupp Arena on April 19, 2023. The high school helpdesk students will be participating in the live Help Desk / Support Challenge.  School and district leaders are invited to spectate at the STLP Championship.  Doors open at 9:00am.
