This memo is presented for informational purposes regarding the 2026–2027 Bullitt County
Public Schools Preschool Calendar.

The Preschool calendar includes a staggered start date between Session A (Monday and
Tuesday) and Session B (Wednesday and Thursday). This adjustment is necessary to ensure
each preschool session includes 60 instructional days during the school year. Session A will
begin on August 17th, 2026, and Session B will begin on September 16th, 2026. The altered
session start date is in response to known student non-instructional days that occur more
frequently during the Session A schedule. By adjusting the calendar in this way, both sessions
are able to have the same instructional days while maintaining alignment with district scheduling
considerations.

BCPS Preschool proudly serves over 300 three- and four-year-olds in Bullitt County under the
guidelines for Preschool programming at 12 school sites across BCPS.
