Board Bravos and Updates
Board members shared the following:
- The holiday programs and concerts have been wonderful
- HHS Forensics were Grand Champions at the most recent competition
- Senators Stivers and Funke Frommeyer toured JES last week led by 3rd grade students
- Hoops for Hunger was a success, raising money and canned goods for 3 different charities
- The Holiday Walk was well attended by the community and many of our students participated
- Congratulations to HMS Principal Volpenhein on the birth of her son, Otto
- MES was named a Common Sense School for digital citizenship
- Congratulations to HHS Football on being Regional Champs and a very successful season
- HHS Girls Basketball Coach Jaime Richey will be recognized on December 10 at 7pm as the winningest basketball coach in HHS history

Tradition of Excellence Award - Emily Morel

HMS Teacher Karen Kampschmidt nominated and presented Emily Morel with a Tradition of Excellence Award for her oustanding service and commitment to the students and staff at Highlands Middle School. Mrs. Morel has been volunteering and serving the school district since the early 2000's.

HHS Journalism National JEA Competition
Beth Brubaker
Journalism students Skyler Frey and Adalyn Armstrong Cattani were recognized for their performance at the National JEA Competition where both received an Honorable Mention. The Board congratulated the students and presented each with a Certificate of Achievement.

HHS Marching Band State Championship
Lori Duncan
Students from the HHS Marching Band were recognized for their Championship at the MSBA Competition. HHS Band Director Lori Duncan shared the HHS Band has been competing since 1984, and this is the school's first Band Championship. With only 1 senior graduating, most students will be returning again next year to compete.
The Board thanked the students and presented each with a Certificate of Achievement and a Champions t-shirt.
