Consider Ordinance 16-2024 entitled AN ORDINANCE CLOSING PORTIONS OF THE ALLEY RIGHTS-OF-WAY BETWEEN 512 WEST 9TH STREET, 915 CEDAR STREET, 917 CEDAR STREET, 919 CEDAR STREET AND 924 LOCUST STREET IN THE CITY OF OWENSBORO, KENTUCKY.
The City of Owensboro desires to close portions of the alley rights-of-way located between 512 West 9th Street, 915 Cedar Street, 917 Cedar Street, 919 Cedar Street and 924 Locust Street. The Petitioner and adjoining and/or abutting property owners agree to retain the public utility easements.

Aaron M. Brown – Probationary, full-time, non-civil service appointment to Road Worker with the Public Works Street Department, effective October 28, 2024, contingent upon successful completion of all post-offer, pre-employment requirements
Stetson P. Brown – Probationary, full-time, non-civil service appointment to Maintenance Equipment Operator with the Public Works Street Department, effective October 28, 2024, contingent upon successful completion of all post-offer, pre-employment requirements

OPEN PUBLIC FORUM
Members of the audience may address the Board of Commissioners on any matter of public concern that was not on the agenda. Comments are limited to issues within the scope and responsibility of the Commission.
Commission meetings are held to conduct city business for the benefit of Owensboro citizens and taxpayers. The meetings are not intended to serve as public forums for candidates who are campaigning for political office. Political candidates will not be allowed to use the Commission meeting to promote his/her candidacy for public office.
At this time, anyone who wishes to address the City Commission please make their way to the podium to be recognized. Speakers must state their name and address for the Clerk’s record, and limit their remarks to three (3) minutes or less. Since the item is not on the agenda, no response is required from staff or the Board of Commissioners. The Mayor reserves the right to extend time to the speaker.
