Rationale

Board Chair Price Smith called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

A public hearing regarding the tax rate was opened to visitor comments for a period of 30 minutes.  There were no comments form the audience.

3. Fiscal Agent - Adryanne Warren
Rationale

Change fiscal agents from Baird Financial to Compass Municipal Advisors.  This motion would require the board to end the agreement with Baird Financial.  

 

 

Recommended Motion

Approve to end our fiscal agent agreement with Baird Financial and begin our new agreement with Compass Municipal Advisors.

4. Tax Rate Discussion/Vote
Rationale

The General Fund tax levied in fiscal year 2024 was 52.2 cents on real property and 52.2 cents on personal property and produced revenue of $4,765,153.36. The proposed General Fund tax

rate of 53 cents on real property and 53 cents on personal property is expected to produce $5,293,336.68. Of this amount $958,491.76 is from new and personal property. The compensating

tax for 2025 is 51 cents on real property and 51 cents on personal property and is expected to produce $5,093,588.13.

 

The general areas to which revenue of $528,183.32 above 2024 revenue is to be allocated are as follows: Cost of collections, $21,127.33; building fund, $32,981; general fund, $474,074.99.

 

Recommended Motion

The approval of the tax levy as follows:
General Fund tax rate of 53 cents on real property and 53 cents on personal property
