Work Session: Working Budget for Fiscal Year 2013–14
The topic of this work session is the Working Budget for Fiscal Year 2013–14, which will be presented for the Board’s approval on September 23, 2013.
Once approved by the Jefferson County Board of Education, the Working Budget will be submitted to the Kentucky Board of Education for approval as required by KRS 160.470.
The budget process for fiscal year 2013–14 began with the General Fund Draft Budget, which was approved by the Board on January 28, 2013. The Tentative Budget was approved by the Board on May 28, 2013.
The working budget includes the following funds:
- General
- Special Revenue (Grants & Awards)
- Capital Outlay
- Building
- Construction
- Debt Service
- Enterprise
- Food Service,
- Day Care Operations,
- Adult Education,
- Tuition Preschool, and
- Trust & Agency
Focus Area 4: Safe, Resourced, Supported, and Equipped Schools
Success Measure 1: Increase in the percentage of the budget directed to schools as measured by the final budget and increase in the percentage of the total general fund directed at instruction as measured by the final budget.
