The District Calendar committee composed of representatives from employee unions, central office departments, the PTA, Board District parent representatives and local schools developed the attached calendars.

The calendars include 187 scheduled days plus two extended days for teachers and 175 days (1074 instructional hours) for students.  Teachers will have one day prior to the start date to set up their classrooms.

2012-2013 Student Makeup days:
    Missed before October 1: 10/4, 10/3, 10/2
    Missed after October 1: 2/15, 2/14, 2/13, 2/12, 3/8, 6/6, 6/7, 6/10, 6/11, 6/12, 6/13, 6/14
        If 2/15 used for instruction, makeup for flexible professional on 3/8 or 6/6.

2013-14 Student Makeup Days:
    Missed before October 1: 10/3, 10/2, 10/1
    Missed after October 1: 2/14, 2/13, 2/12, 2/11, 3/7, 6/6, 6/9, 6/10, 6/11, 6/12, 6/13
        If 2/14 used for instruction, makeup for flexible professional on 5/20.

Any accrued instructional time in District calendars over the Kentucky Department of Education's minimum is to be designated as 'banked' instructional time.

All 260/261-day employees have nine paid holidays.  A list of the recommended paid holidays for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 school years is attached.
