To All Members of the Board of Education of Jefferson County, Kentucky:

The Chairman of the Board of Education is calling a special meeting of the Board of Education to be held on Tuesday May 17, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at the VanHoose Education Center, 3332 Newburg Road, Louisville, Kentucky.

The purpose of this meeting is to interview interim superintendent candidates.

Any and all matters incidental to and supplementary of the foregoing may also be taken up, considered and acted upon in the meeting.

Portions of the meeting will be closed to the public as provided for under KRS 61.810 (1)(f) of the Open Meetings Act.

Chairman Stephen Imhoff read the following statement:

"This Board of Education wants to be proactive and identify someone who could become the acting superintendent if the successful candidate is unable to begin July 1 or if the Board decides to expand its search beyond the current applicants we will receive. Therefore, I call this meeting of the Jefferson County Board of Education to order and ask for a motion to recess and reconvene in executive session for the purpose of considering candidates for the position of interim superintendent. Do I have a motion?"

Order #78 - Motion Passed:  A recommendation to enter into Executive Session to interview interim superintendent candidates in accordance with KRS 61.810(1)(f) passed with a motion by Mrs. Carol Ann Haddad and a second by Mr. Larry Hujo.

The Executive Session was adjourned by consensus and Board members returned to open session at approximately 7:33 p.m.

Chairman Stephen Imhoff announced that the Board had met in Executive Session and no action was taken.

Order #79 - Motion Passed:  A recommendation to adjourn the May 17, 2011, special meeting of the Jefferson Coaunty Board of Education at 7:35 p.m. passed with a motion by Mrs. Carol Ann Haddad and a second by Mrs. Debbie Wesslund.
