This meeting will be conducted via video teleconference pursuant to KRS 61.823 and KRS 61.826. The primary location for this meeting and where all members can be seen and heard by the public will be Stewart Auditorium in the VanHoose Education Center. Members of the Board are permitted to attend in-person or via video teleconference pursuant to KRS 61.826. Members of the public may attend in-person or watch the live stream.
II.
Recommendation for Approval of Team Members Conducting Turnaround Work at the Comprehensive Support and Improvement Schools
Beginning in the 2025-26 school year, the Turnaround Plans for schools identified as Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) are subject to review and approval by the local board of education as outlined in KRS 160.346 and 703 KAR 5:280. The plans include evidence-based interventions to be used to increase student performance and address the critical needs identified in the school audit; list of persons involved in turnaround efforts; and resources identified for school improvement.
The attachment includes a link to the list of updated turnaround team forms for the following CSI schools that received their diagnostic review reports: Atkinson Academy, Blake Elementary, Byck Elementary, Cane Run Elementary, Cochran Elementary, Conway Middle, Crums Lane Elementary, Doss High, Fairdale High, Greenwood Elementary, Hartstern Elementary, Hudson Middle, Indian Trail Elementary, Johnson Traditional Middle, Kerrick Elementary, Knight Middle, Marion C. Moore School, Olmsted Academy South, Rangeland Elementary, Rutherford Elementary, Semple Elementary, Shacklette Elementary, Shelby Academy, The Academy @ Shawnee, and Trunnell Elementary.
This project aligns with Vision 2020 Strategy 1.1.7, Eliminate achievement, learning, and opportunity gaps.

Recommendation for Approval of Tax Rates for Fiscal Year 2026-27
In compliance with KRS 160.470 and the regulations of the State Board of Education, the Jefferson County Board of Education is required to approve tax rates for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. The proposed tax rate is not subject to recall under KRS 132.017.
The proposed tax rate is expected to generate more revenue than received in the preceding year. The estimated gross revenue generated by the 70.3 cents real property rate and the 70.3 cents personal property rate is $833,122,237. Of this amount, $66,365,356 will be allocated to the Building Fund for capital projects and debt payment on bond issues. The balance, $766,756,881, will be allocated to the General Fund to pay for educational services and operations.
The General Fund tax rate levied in fiscal year 2025-26 was 71.7 cents on real property and 73.5 cents on personal property and produced a revenue of $756,453,342.69.

IV.
Recommendation for Approval of the Working Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-27
Once approved by the Jefferson County Board of Education, the Working Budget will be submitted to the Kentucky Board of Education for approval as required by KRS 160.470.
