The Chair of the Board of Education is calling a special meeting of the Board of Education to be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at VanHoose Education Center, 3332 Newburg Road, Louisville, Kentucky.

The purpose of this meeting is for Board members to convene in Executive Session with the JCPS Superintendent Screening Committee to discuss and review aspirants in the superintendent search and have discussions that may lead to the appointment of an individual employee pursuant to KRS 61.810 (1)(f).

This meeting will be conducted as a joint session of the Jefferson County Board of Education and the Superintendent Screening Committee. During the meeting, the Board and the Committee may convene jointly and separately for discussion, consistent with the provisions of KRS 61.810(1)(f).

Portions of this meeting will be closed to the public pursuant to KRS 61.810 (1)(f) of the Kentucky Open Meetings Act.

This meeting will be conducted in person. The primary location for this meeting and where all members can be seen and heard by the public will be the Stewart Auditorium within the VanHoose Education Center located at 3332 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY 40218.

Order #2025-58 - Motion Passed:  A motion that the Board of Education conduct a closed session to discuss aspirants in the superintendent search, as well as have discussions that may lead to the appointment of an individual employee pursuant to KRS 61.810 (1)(f) passed with a motion by Mr. James Craig and a second by Ms. Gail Logan Strange.

Order #2025-59 - Motion Passed:  A motion to authorize the search firm to extend interviews to the six aspirants who were discussed in executive session passed with a motion by Ms. Tricia Lister and a second by Mr. James Craig.

Order #2025-60 - Motion Passed:  A motion to adjourn the April 24, 2025, meeting at 7:32 p.m. passed with a motion by Ms. Tricia Lister and a second by Mr. Trevin Bass.
