Executive Session per KRS 160.190 and Board Policy 01.3
The Acting Chair of the Board of Education is calling a special meeting of the Board of Education to be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at the VanHoose Education Center, 3332 Newburg Road, Louisville, Kentucky.
The purpose of this meeting includes discussions that may lead to the appointment of an individual to the vacancy in Board Member District 1 pursuant to KRS 160.190 and Board Policy 01.3.
The agenda is as follows:
I. Call to Order
II. Overview of Appointment Process and Timeline
III. Enter Closed Executive Session for Discussions That May Lead to the Appointment of an Individual Member Pursuant to KRS 61.810(1)(f).
IV. Adjourn from Executive Session
V. Discussion of Dates for Future Special Meetings
VI. Adjournment
Any and all matters incidental to and supplementary to the foregoing may also be taken up, considered, and acted upon at the meeting.
Portions of this meeting will be closed to the public pursuant to KRS 61.810 (1)(f) of the Kentucky Open Meetings Act.
This meeting will be conducted via video-teleconference pursuant to KRS 61.823 and KRS 61.826. The primary location for this meeting and where all members can be seen and heard by the public will be Stewart Auditorium in the VanHoose Education Center. Members of the Board are permitted to attend in-person or via video-teleconference pursuant to KRS 61.826.
Order #2023-182 - Motion Passed: A motion to enter closed session, as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(f) of the Open Meetings Act, for the purpose of discussions that may lead to the appointment of an individual to the vacancy in Board Member District 1 passed with a motion by Mrs. Linda Duncan and a second by Dr. Christopher Kolb.
Order #2023-183 - Motion Passed: A motion to adjourn from closed session and return to open session passed with a motion by Mr. James Craig and a second by Dr. Christopher Kolb.
Order #2023-184 - Motion Passed: A motion to adjourn the November 28 special meeting of the Board of Education at 5:38 p.m. passed with a motion by Dr. Christopher Kolb and a second by Mrs. Linda Duncan.
