Special Meeting: Race to the Top Application
I. Call to Order
Rationale

A special meeting of the Board of Education was held at 11:30 a.m. at the VanHoose Education Center to discuss and review the Commonwealth of Kentucky's DRAFT Race to the Top application and the Memorandum of Understanding with the Kentucky Department of Education. 

II. Discussion and Review of the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Race to the Top Application and MOU with the Kentucky Department of Education
Rationale

The following staff members were present:

  • Sheldon H. Berman, superintendent;
  • Arthur Camins, executive director, Gheens Institute for Innovation;
  • Cordelia Hardin, chief financial officer/treasurer;
  • Stephanie Malone, assistant general counsel;
  • Rosemary Miller, general counsel;
  • Mike Mulheirn, executive director, Facilities/Transportation;
  • Dr. Bob Rodosky, executive director; Accountability, Research, and Planning; and
  • Pat Todd, executive director, Student Assignment and the Gheens Academy.  

DeeAnn Flaherty, executive director, Jefferson County Teachers Association (JCTA), and Brent McKim, president, JCTA, were also present.

No action was taken.
