The purpose of this meeting is for Board members to have a discussion regarding pending litigation. Portions of the meeting will be closed to the public as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(c) of the Open Meetings Act

This meeting will be conducted via video-teleconference pursuant to KRS 61.823 and KRS 61.826. The primary location for this meeting and where all members can be seen and heard by the public will be Stewart Auditorium, VanHoose Education Center. Members are permitted to attend in-person or via video-teleconference pursuant to KRS 61.826.

In light of the Governor having declared a state of emergency within the Commonwealth on March 6, 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak and in accordance with SB 150 (2020) regarding the conduct of meetings of state boards and commissions during the emergency period, public attendance at this meeting is permitted, however please be advised that continued COVID-related mitigation efforts will require a reduced seating capacity in Stewart Auditorium to maintain social distancing.  As a result, all interested members of the public are strongly encouraged to participate by video-teleconference, which will be available for live public viewing at the following link: JCBE MEETING VIDEO.  All members can be seen and heard by viewing this live link.

Order #2021-101 - Motion Passed:  A motion to enter closed session as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(c) of the Open Meetings Act, for the Purpose of a Discussion Regarding Pending Litigation passed with a motion by Mr. Joseph Marshall and a second by Mrs. Linda Duncan.

Order #2021-102 - Motion Passed:  A motion to adjourned closed session and return to open session passed with a motion by Dr. Corrie Shull and a second by Mr. Joseph Marshall.

Order #2021-103 - Motion Passed:  A motion to authorize Board Counsel to effectuate a settlement in the two matters identified in closed session and pursuant to the terms discussed in closed session passed with a motion by Ms. Sarah McIntosh and a second by Mr. Joseph Marshall.

A motion that the Board of Education adjourn from Executive Session and return to Open Session
