Rationale

The Chair of the Board of Education is calling a special meeting of the Board of Education to be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021, which will be conducted by video-teleconference.

6:00 p.m. Special Meeting: The purpose of this meeting is to conduct a Virtual Town Hall on the District’s school reopening plan. Families and employees will be able to ask questions and learn more about what it will look like when JCPS schools reopen. 

The phone number to text questions to JCPS administrators during the event will be shared on our social media sites prior to the start of the town hall.

The meeting agenda is as follows:

  1. Call to Order
  2. Receive Reopening Plan Feedback from Families and Employees via Virtual Town Hall Question/Answer Session
  3. Adjournment

Other than receiving Reopening Plan Feedback from Families and Employees, no business shall be conducted at this event.

Guidance from the Executive Branch provides that all Kentucky Boards and Commissions take proper health precautions to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

In light of the Governor having declared a state of emergency within the Commonwealth on March 6, 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak and in compliance with guidance issued by the Executive Branch on March 12 and 16, 2020, regarding the conduct of meetings of state boards and commissions during the emergency period, members of the public will only be able to view video-teleconferenced meetings remotely.
