Rationale

JCPS Meeting Videos

The Board of Education has scheduled a Public Hearing to receive comments on a proposed site acquisition at 1700 West Broadway, Louisville, KY 40210 for the purpose of constructing a new elementary school, June 25, 2020 at 5:30 p.m., at Central High School, 1130 W. Chestnut Street, Louisville, KY 40203.

A copy of the presentation will be available on the District's You Tube Channel by June 18, 2020 for examination by interested individuals. Those individuals wishing to comment on the proposed plan may present oral or written comments at the Public Hearing. The Board of Education may set reasonable time limits for testimony. CDC/ Health Department guidelines for social distancing protocols will be followed. After due process, the Board of Education will forward an executive summary to the Louisville Metro Planning Commission. Copies of the executive summary may be requested in writing by contacting Susan Biasiolli, Director Facility Planning, 3001 Crittenden Drive, Louisville, KY.

 

Please note that if you have a COUGH or SHORTNESS of BREATH, DIFFICULTY BREATHING or FEVER (100.F or greater), you should NOT enter the building.

If you have any of TWO of the following, you should NOT enter the building:  Fever, Shivering, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Chills, Muscle pain, Sore throat

  • Speakers will line up outside of the main entrance at Central High School
  • There will be “Xs” on the ground (similar to what you might have seen at local retail stores) to help ensure appropriate social distancing. JCPS staff will be available to guide visitors.
  • Attendees will be asked to sign-in with their name, address, email address, and phone number. Written comments may be left at this time with the JCPS staff member.
  • Those wishing to comment will step to an “X” marked on the floor in front of a podium; will look and speak into a laptop to begin the video recording. The speaker will have a maximum of three minutes. At two minutes and 30 seconds a bell will sound to indicate that there are 30 seconds left.
