01.45 Board Meeting Agenda
This change is needed to align Board policy with 2019 Board Meeting Schedule, which includes two types of Regular Meetings – Business Meetings and Work Session Meetings.
COMPLETION OF KSBA UPDATE FROM LETTER TO NUMBER CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM The JCPS Final Corrective Action Plan with the Kentucky Department of Education includes the following recommendation: “D1. Partner with KSBA to align and standardize policies and procedures.”
As part of implementation of that recommendation, KSBA has determined that JCPS has several Board policies that need to be converted from the previously used letter classification system to a numeric system. KSBA recommended language changes.

Incorporates language from Board Policy GCGA and KSBA model language, and language
regarding bargained contracts parallel to that in Board Policy 03.1 Certified Personnel
08.1 Curriculum
KSBA Model language. Incorporates language from KRS 158.645
08.1114 Preschool Education
Incorporated language from Board Policy IGCF and JCPS staff recommended language to align policy with current practice
08.211 Homework
Incorporates language KSBA model language
IKB Homework
Repeal. Replace with 08.211 Homework, which is KSBA Model language
08.221 Grading
Incorporates language from Board Policies IKA and IKAC and JCPS staff recommendation to remove reference to End-of-Course grading as EOC has been removed from state accountability system
09.1221 Part-Time Students
KSBA model language and JCPS staff recommendation based on KRS 159.030 and 702. KAR 7:125
