09.131            District Commitment to Racial Educational Equity

Changes the number of members of the Advisory Council from 11 to between 11 and 17.

HEAD START

Beginning with the 2018-19 school year, JCPS is no longer managing Head Start/Early Head Start programming for Jefferson County. Board polices are being updated to reflect that change.

PROHIBITION OF DATING RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN A SUPERVISOR AND AN EMPLOYEE

The JCPS Human Resources Department wishes to prohibit dating relationships between supervisors and employees, to accompany existing prohibitions for an employee to be supervised by a relative,

01.0               Definitions

Add the definition of “dating relationship.” Definitions in this policy pertain to the entire Board Policy Manual.

02.3               Management

Prohibit supervisors from being in a dating relationship with employees they supervise; establish that they are subject to discipline under the provisions

of Board Policies 03.17 (certified) and 03.27 (classified).

03.17             Discipline: Nonrenewal-Resignation by Employee (Certified)

Add being in a dating relationship with supervisor/supervisee to the list of causes for discipline; establish that discipline can be avoided by prior disclosure of interest in a dating relationship and requesting reassignment.

03.27             Discipline, Suspension & Dismissal of Classified Employees

Add being in a dating relationship with supervisor/supervisee to the list of causes for discipline; establish that discipline can be avoided by prior disclosure of interest in a dating relationship and requesting reassignment.

03.131          Assignment (Certified)

Prohibit the assignment of a person to a position if the assignment would

cause them to supervise, or be supervised by, a person with whom they are

in a dating relationship.

03.231          Assignment (Classified)

Prohibits the assignment of a person to a position if the assignment would

cause them to supervise, or be supervised by, a person with whom they are

in a dating relationship.

The Board Policy Committee will meet on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 5:30 pm in
