Work Session: District Safety, Security, and Restorative Practices
I. District Safety, Security, and Restorative Practices
Rationale

10 16 18 JCBE Work Session Audio

Creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment in schools is critical to student success. There are multiple complementary components to a comprehensive plan that is research-based, student-centered, and systematically implemented, to ensure that schools are safe and secure and that students have an abiding sense of belonging.

During this work session, the Board will receive reports regarding implementation of restorative practices in JCPS schools and the work of the recently created Internal Safety and Security Task Force. The task force is an internal, cross-functional team charged with preparing recommendations and an implementation plan regarding school safety and security for the 2019-20 school year and beyond.
