3 27 18 Special Meeting Audio

The Chairwoman of the Board of Education is calling a special meeting of the Board of Education to be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. at the VanHoose Education Center, 3332 Newburg Road, Louisville, Kentucky.

The purpose of this meeting is a discussion that might lead to the appointment of an individual employee.

Any and all matters incidental to and supplementary of the foregoing may also be taken up, considered and acted upon at the meeting.

Portions of this meeting will be closed to the public pursuant to KRS 61.810 (1)(f) of the Kentucky Open Meetings Act.

The Board of Education will enter executive session for the purpose of discussions that might lead to the appointment of an individual employee per KRS 61.810(1)(f).

Order #64 - Motion Passed:  A motion that the Board of Education enter executive session for the purpose of discussions that might lead to the appointment of an individual employee pursuant to KRS 61.810(1)(f) passed with a motion by Mr. Benjamin Gies and a second by Dr. Lisa Willner.

• Dr. Martin Pollio Contract

Order #65 - Motion Passed:  A motion that the Board of Education adjourn executive session and return to open session passed with a motion by Mr. Chris Brady and a second by Mr. Benjamin Gies.

Order #66 - Motion Passed:  A motion that the Board of Education appoint Dr. Martin Pollio as Superintendent of the Jefferson County Public Schools for a term of office beginning April 1, 2018, and expiring March 31, 2022, and that the Board of Education approve the contract negotiated by the attorneys for the Board of Education and the attorney for Dr. Pollio and authorize the Board Chair to sign the contract on behalf of the Board of Education passed with a motion by Mr. Benjamin Gies and a second by Mr. Chris Brady.
