Work Session: Feedback on Board Governance and Practice; and Long-term Demographic Forecasts
In the first part of the Work Session the Board will continue discussions with Dr. Thomas Alsbury, receive feedback based on his observations of Jefferson County Board of Education meetings regarding how to improve board governance and practice, based on the characteristics of high-performing school boards.
The second part of the meeting will be devoted to a discussion of long-term demographic forecasts for Louisville Metro, to provide context for the facilities and infrastructure plans for the district that are currently being developed. The Board will receive presentations from Louisville Metro Government, the Kentucky State Data Center, the Building Industry Association of Greater Louisville, and the Metropolitan Housing Coalition.
