Review and Response to Initial Draft of Strategic Plan: Vision 2020 and Discussion of Board Activities and Development

The Strategic Plan: Vision 2015 was adopted by the Board of Education on May 29, 2012, and has served as the fundamental document to set the priorities and guide the work of JCPS to improve the education we provide to our students. A revised, more streamlined version of Vision 2015 was approved by the Board on October 27, 2014.
The Board is moving forward with a process to create Strategic Plan: Vision 2020 that will guide the work of the district for the next five years.
The Board Strategy Working Group, the Technology and Performance Working Group, and the Finance Working Group have been meeting to discuss issues that will be integral to the final version of Vision 2020.
During this work session, Board Working Group members will share outcomes of their work and recommendations to the Board, and the Board will finalize mission, vison, core values, and identify key areas of focus for Vision 2020.
In addition, there will a brief discussion of Board activities and development.
