I. Board Governance Training on Revised Head Start Federal Regulation 1305.4: Age of Children and Family Income Verification

Pursuant to the provisions outlined in 45 CFR 1305.4, the Head Start Governing Body (Jefferson County Board of Education) is required to participate in a training on the revised regulations related to determining, verifying, and documenting the eligibility of program participants. Members of the JCPS Early Childhood and Computer Education Support teams will provide the training for all Board members.

At the end of the facilitated training session, Board members will have a better understanding of the revised federal regulations related to:

  • The district’s procedures for determining Head Start and Early Head Start participant age and income eligibility;

  • The district’s procedures for verifying income of Head Start and Early Head Start participants; and

  • The district’s procedures for documenting the eligibility for Head Start and Early Head Start.
