The Vision 2015 Strategic Plan was adopted by the Board on May 29, 2012, and has served as the fundamental document to set the priorities and guide the work of JCPS to improve the education we provide to our students. A revised, more streamlined version of Vision 2015 was approved by the Board on October 27, 2014.

The Board is moving forward with a process to create Vision 2020 Strategic Plan. Vison 2020 will establish the vision, mission, core values, and guiding practices that will guide the work of the district for the next five years, and will set forth goals and measurable targets, and identifying key strategies for meeting the targets under each goal.

During this Work Session the Board will receive an update regarding the input received, the work on Vision 2020 to date, and an overview of next steps in the development of the plan.

In addition, there will be an opportunity for board members to provide brief reports regarding conferences recently attended and a discussion regarding future opportunities for board development.
