Superintendent's Contract

This work session will provide an opportunity for discussion of the Superintendent's contract, ("Current Contract" or "2011 Contract"), which expires on June 30, 2015. A copy of the Current Contract is attached.
Since joining the District, Superintendent Hargens has declined annual salary increases provided in the 2011 Contract. She has requested that in any extension of her Contract there be no increase in the base salary rate established in the 2011 Contract and that provisions for mandatory annual increases be deleted.
In addition, she has requested deletion of Article IX, which calls for certain technology and communication devices and services to be provided at District expense. The attached recommended Contract ("Draft for Discussion") reflects these requests.
In the system of revision used in the attached contract, underlined (_____) words are proposed language, and words containing (-----) are proposed deleted language.
A final draft will be placed on the February 23, 2015, Board agenda for consideration and approval.
