JCPS Communications and Community Relations plays the lead and vital role in keeping the district's stakeholders, parents, partners, and interested citizens informed about the achievement of its 101,000 students.

Communications also keeps the district's 16,000 employees—including more than 6,600 teachers—in the loop about the district's progress and initiatives and aggressively promotes our district's positive news and manages crisis situations when they occur.

Through traditional media relations, social media, direct marketing, the district website, and more, Communications produces and delivers messaging that is delivered to thousands of stakeholders each day.

With rapid changes in technology and increasingly fragmented audiences in the 21st Century, the successful delivery of JCPS information can be challenging. It is critical for a great urban school district to embrace and utilize new technology with a targeted approach to marketing to reach and expand its audience.

This presentation will provide an overview of the district's communications philosophy and strategic approach to building relationships and building a JCPS brand.
