Work Session: Budget Update

The purpose of this work session is to provide a snapshot of the Working Budget for fiscal year 2014-15 as of August 18, 2014. Chief Financial Officer Cordelia Hardin will provide an overview and answer Board members' questions.
The budget process for fiscal year 2014-15 began with the General Fund Draft Budget, which was approved by the Board on January 27, 2014, and was followed by the approval of the Tentative Budget on May 27, 2014.
The final Working Budget for fiscal year 2014-15 will be submitted to the Board for approval no later than the last Board meeting in September and will be submitted to the Kentucky Board of Education by September 30, 2014, as required by KRS 160.470.
In addition, a Board Work Session is planned for September 8 when the Working Budget will be completed and available for your final review before the request for approval on September 22.
