The Jefferson County Board of Education held a work session on September 23, 2013, to discuss the proposed sixth-grade model at Frost Middle School, the proposed Cadet Academy Magnet Program at Myers Middle School, and the leadership structure of The Academy @ Shawnee. The goal of these proposals is to ensure all staffs and students have the support and resources they need for students to increase achievement and graduate college and career ready.

Since the work session, District staff has met with school staff, parents, and community to gain their input into these proposals. This report will provide the board this feedback and allow for additional time to answer questions.

The attachments include (1) revisions to the original proposals based on community input and (2) answers to frequently asked questions from the input sessions.

Staff will seek final Board approval on the proposals to be implemented in the 2014-15 school year.
