Rationale

It is recommended the Board approve to declare an emergency exists for the availability of certified and qualified applicants for substitute teachers, special education teachers, adjunct instructors and teachers for the 2022-2023 school year.  This action will enable the Board to apply to the State Department of Education for re-certification of emergency substitute teachers employed for the 2022-2023 school year, for future adjunct instructors and emergency teachers if necessary to maintain a satisfactory number of qualified teachers and substitutes for the district.

5.K. Approval to Declare Madisonville North Hopkins Band Uniforms as Surplus Property and Sell at Public Auction
Rationale

It is recommended the Board approve to declare Madisonville North Hopkins band uniforms as surplus property and be sold at a public auction.  Proceeds will go to purchase new band uniforms.

5.M. Approval of Extension for Bids for Soft Drink Beverage Vending and West Hopkins Water Treatment Finishing
Rationale

It is recommended since the vendors agreed to the same terms and conditions, the Board of Education extend the West Hopkins Waste Water Finishing Bid from 2021-2022, by Clearwater Environmental Services, and the 2021-2022 bid for soft drink beverage vending from Dr. Pepper/LBH, Inc., into the 2022-2023 school year.
