  • HCHS Baseball Team to travel to Louisville, KY April 26th and Lexington, KY May 10th and stay overnight to play in baseball tournaments 
  • HCHS HOSA students to travel to Louisville, KY from March 6 - March 9, 2013 to attend the Health Occupations Students of America Leadership Conference
  •  HCHS qualifying DECA students to travel to Louisville, KY March 10-March 12, 2013 to attend the DECA State Conference and to Anaheim, CA April 23-28, 2013 to attend the DECA International Conference
  • NMS KUNA students to attend the Kentucky United Nations Assembly March 10, 11 and 12, 2013 in Louisville, KY
  • HCHS Co-ed-Y club to compete in Louisville, KY for the 2013 KUNA (Kentucky United Nations Assembly) on March 17-19, 2013
  • HCHS speech team to attend the state competition March 14-16, 2013 in Lexington, KY
  • HCHS academic team to attend two overnight meets:

Rationale

KRS 158.070 states that closing schools on primary or regular election days is mandatory.  May 20th 2014 (Tuesday) is a date that has been set for a primary election.  It is currently scheduled to be our students last day to attend school for the 2013-2014 school year.

In order to comply with the KRS and have our schools serve as voting places we will need to alter the 2013-2014 school calendar.
