III.A. Approve FCHS Greenhouse BG-2, BG-3, Drawings/Specs, Advertise to Bid
Rationale

SKC is requesting approval of the construction drawings and specifications, permission to advertise for bids, the BG2 and the BG3 forms for the FCHS greenhouse.  This project is fully funded by grants solicited by the Agriculture Department at FCHS.

Rationale

Due to a need for more adult assistance at Bridgeport to implement Individual Educational Plans, we are asking approval to create an instructional assistant position for 8 hours per day for the rest of the school year.
Funding for this position will be obtained from IDEA Basic, Part B.

III.D. Approve FCHS Costume Rental Agreement
III.E. Approve WHHS Band Overnight to Louisville
Rationale

WHHS band director, Stephanie Wallace requests approval to take nine students to the University of Louisville Honors Conference and Performance on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 27-28.  The students attending are Kourtney Howard, Meagan Henry, Brenna Burton, Noah Strunk, Nick Riley, Simon Holden, Derek Phillips, Chris Hughes and Chris Nguyen.  The will be five chaperones including Ms. Wallace.  Parents will be transporting the students and providing food.  Lodging will be paid for by the band boosters and the conference fees will be covered by Ms. Wallace.  Students will leave school on Friday at 1:30 in order to get registered for auditions and attend early rehearsals. 

IV. Review of Draft Budget for 2012-2013
Rationale

State law (KRS 160.470 (6)(a) requires that every local board of education receive a DRAFT Budget prior to January 31 for the upcoming school year.  The law's purpose is to assure that the board has sufficient information about projected receipts and expenditures for all funds in the entire budget as allocations for individual budget components are considered.

Bob Wagoner will present an overview of our revenue and expense projections for 2012-13.

Action on the school allocations will be taken at a future meeting.

V. Report from Elkhorn Middle School

VI. Report from the Academy
Rationale

Melissa Rogers will present a report on the Academy.
