Overcrowding at Peaks Mill Elementary, Elkhorn Elementary and enrollment at capacity at Hearn Elementary School indicate that the Franklin County Board of Education will need to begin the process of constructing a new elementary school. Our current District Facility Plan was completed in 2003 and does not include the construction of another elementary school as one of its items. I am requesting that the Local Planning Committee be convened for the purpose of adding a specific amendment which will add the construction of another elementary school.
