Public Comments
The Franklin County Board of Education has provided time in its agenda for individuals to make comments. Comments to the Board will be allowed up to a maximum of three (3) minutes. The Board does not allow comments on any matter dealing with personnel issues. Kentucky law states specifically that personnel matters are the responsibility of the Superintendent. On all personnel matters, you should contact the Superintendent of Schools. No questions, comments, or decisions/action related to public comments will be made by Board members at this time, unless the specific topic is on the agenda; however, the Board will listen to the comments and/or suggestions which may lead to a discussion of same at a future meeting. If an individual wishes for the Board to discuss and/or take action on a particular issue, they must follow the procedures outlined in Franklin County Board of Education Policy 10.2. The Superintendent or the designee will be able to assist in this request.

Hurricane Helene Support
Franklin County Schools Transportation Department organized supply donations to benefit schools and communities in East Tennessee. Supplies will be delivered by bus the week of Fall Break.

CISA Partnership/Agreement
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Vulnerability Scanning (VS) service is a continuous, “internet scanning-as-a-service” offering designed to assess the security of internet-accessible assets. The service identifies known vulnerabilities, weak configurations, and suboptimal security practices while recommending ways to improve security standards for web and email. This is a free partnership between the federal government and Franklin County Schools.

Western Hills High School requests approval for 30 students to attend the KYA conference in Louisville on December 4th-6th. The trip request is attached.

Girls Basketball Overnight Trip-FCHS
The Franklin County High School Lady Flyers requests approval to attend an overnight basketball tournament in Bowling Green, KY on December 27-30, 2024. Franklin County School bus transportation will be requested.
The booster club will be funding the trip. 18 students and 8 adults will attend.

Girls Basketball Out of State Trip-FCHS
The Lady Flyers basketball team requests approval for the out of state trip to Myrtle Beach, December 19-23, for the United Bank Holiday Beach Ball Classic.
The team will travel by charter bus with Martin Tours with 8 adults and 18 students traveling.
