Special Meeting
I. Call to Order
Rationale

The mission of the Franklin County Public Schools is to educate students in a community-involved learning environment that ensures all students will achieve their greatest individual potential in order to succeed in a global society.

Please silence all cell phones.

II. Report from Bondurant Middle School
Rationale

Interim Principal Huston Wells and Assistant Principal Keith Embry will present a report on Bondurant Middle School.

III. BMS and WHHS - Student Support Center
Rationale

Bondurant Middle School and Western Hills High School are the only two schools in the district who were not awarded a FRYSC grant for providing services to students and families through a Youth Services Center.

Representative Derrick Graham was able to secure funding to provide a Student Support Center for BMS and WHHS for the 2009-10 school year.  With no additional funding for the center and the uncertainty of the budget for 2010-11, we had to put the project on hold for 2010-11.

In order to provide much needed services to students at BMS and WHHS, we are requesting that the Franklin County Board of Education restore this program for the 2010-11 school year.

The Student Support Specialist for the Center will be paid from the classified salary schedule at the same hourly rate as the FRC Coordinator.
