Call to Order
The mission of the Franklin County Public Schools is to educate students in a community-involved learning environment that ensures all students will achieve their greatest individual potential in order to succeed in a global society.

II.
Approve Insurance Recommendation
Approval of the insurance recommendation for 2010-11 as presented
Order #142 - Motion Passed: That this item be tabled until the special meeting at 6:30pm on June 28th passed with a motion by Tim Metzger and a second by Ms. Michelle New.
III.
Approve Community Education Grant
KDE notified the Franklin County Schools that only a K-12 organization was allowed to serve as a fiscal agent for the community education program. In order to keep this program from being eliminated in our county, the FCPS would like to continue this program and propose that the coordinator be housed at the Career Technical Center. We plan to utilize CTC programs as part of the community education offerings in the near future.

IV.
First Reading 2010-2011 Policies/Procedures Updates
Attached are the recommended KSBA policy/procedure changes for 2010-2011 for your consideration.
No action is necessary. The minutes should reflect a first reading of these policies/procedures.
V.
The Superintendent's Summative Evaluation
The Superintendent shall be evaluated annually in writing by the Board prior to July 1 of each year.
Each Board member shall complete an evaluation form prior to the meeting. The Board has completed the evaluation and the results will now be discussed with the Superintendent.
The vote (consensus) to accept the Superintendent's Evaluation as attached was accepted ---- yea/nay

Recess from Board Meeting
It is necessary for the Board to recess from the Special Agenda in order to travel to the Frankfort Independent Board of Education for a joint Board meeting.

Resume Special Meeting of the Franklin County Board of Education
This Special meeting of the Franklin County Board is now back in session at 6:50pm. Joining them will be the Frankfort Independent Board.
VIII.
Open Discussions on Ways to Work Together to the Benefit of Both Systems
The joint Boards of Education will discuss ideas and opportunities to benefit both school systems.
IX.
Adjournment
The next meeting of the Franklin County Board of Education will be 7:00pm Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Franklin County Board of Education.
