Rationale

The Franklin County Board of Education has provided time in its agenda for individuals to make comments. Comments to the Board will be allowed up to a maximum of three (3) minutes. The Board does not allow comments on any matter dealing with personnel issues. Kentucky law states specifically that personnel matters are the responsibility of the Superintendent. On all personnel matters, you should contact the Superintendent of Schools. No questions, comments, or decisions/action related to public comments will be made by Board members at this time, unless the specific topic is on the agenda; however, the Board will listen to the comments and/or suggestions which may lead to a discussion of same at a future meeting. If an individual wishes for the Board to discuss and/or take action on a particular issue, they must follow the procedures outlined in Franklin County Board of Education Policy 10.2. The Superintendent or the designee will be able to assist in this request.

Rationale

Board approval is required for donations valued at $1000 or more. Franklin Co. Career & Tech is requesting approval to accept a donation from Meritor in the amount of $3000. This donation will be used for incentives and rewards for CTC students accomplishments and recognitions.

Rationale

The Franklin County High School Volleyball Team would like permission to attend the Morehead State University Team Camp on July 11th-13th, 2022 in Morehead, KY.

20 players will be attending the camp and 3 coaches. Players will be paying their own fees ($270) to attend camp and meals will be provided by MSU. A bus will be requested to transport on Monday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 13. Players will be staying on campus and all three coaches (Dale Adkins, Susan Hellard, Chris Schimoeller) will attend as coaches/chaperones.

 

VII.G.2. Volleyball Tournament Overnight-FCHS
Rationale

The Franklin County High School Varsity Volleyball Team would like to request permission to participate in the Apollo Summer Slam Tournament in Owensboro, KY on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20, 2022. 

15 players will be attending the tournament and 3 coaches (Dale Adkins, Suzie Hellard, Chris Schimoeller). Lodging accommodations will be at the Fairfield Inn Marriott in Owensboro and paid from the volleyball boosters.  Since the tournament starts on Friday, the team is also requesting permission to leave on Friday morning from school to make it on time to the first game.

The Franklin County High School Volleyball Team would like to host our annual tournament at both FCHS and EMS, the Capital City Classic on September 9-10, 2022. There will be 16 teams that will be participating in the tournament. The cost for teams to participate will be $300 and each team will play 4 games total. Funds collected from tournament fees, t-shirt sales, and other concessions will be considered a fundraiser for the FCHS Volleyball Booster Club.

VII.H.3. Volleyball Skills Camp Fundraiser-FCHS
Rationale

The Franklin County High School Volleyball Team is requesting permission to host a volleyball skills camp on May 31-June 3, 2022 at FCHS from 9:00-12:00. This will be for students entering grades 3-6. The cost for each camper will be $75. All funds will be considered a fundraiser for the FCHS Volleyball Booster Club.

VII.H.4. Archery Camp/Fundraiser-FCHS

The FCHS archery team is requesting to host an archery camp June 6-10, 2022. It will take place at Franklin County High School. The cost per camper will be $75.00. Proceeds will directly go to helping the archery team order new equipment as well as maintenance on the existing equipment.
