Public Comments
The Franklin County Board of Education has provided time in its agenda for individuals to make comments. Comments to the Board will be allowed up to a maximum of three (3) minutes. The Board does not allow comments on any matter dealing with personnel issues. Kentucky law states specifically that personnel matters are the responsibility of the Superintendent. On all personnel matters, you should contact the Superintendent of Schools. No questions, comments, or decisions/action related to public comments will be made by Board members at this time, unless the specific topic is on the agenda; however, the Board will listen to the comments and/or suggestions which may lead to a discussion of same at a future meeting. If an individual wishes for the Board to discuss and/or take action on a particular issue, they must follow the procedures outlined in Franklin County Board of Education Policy 10.2. The Superintendent or the designee will be able to assist in this request.

Request for Waiver of Graduation Policy
Based on policy 08.113, students are required to attend school for 8 semesters/ 4 years. Due to individual circumstances, a student is requesting a waiver of this policy.
Student ID #1962043749 would like to request permission to graduate in December. The student is requesting early graduation due to personal reasons and early acceptance into EKU and U of L. The student has decided to attend U of L this Spring and proof of acceptance is attached. The student will finish the required 26 credits to graduate, but is asking for a waiver of the 8 semester rule.

Naming of the Western Hills Football Fieldhouse
The Western Hills High School would like to publicly thank the Board of Education and Mr. Kopp for helping us financially with the new Field House. We could not have done so without your assistance. We would like to move forward with naming it after Ricky Harris Jr, whom without the families donations of over $100,000 this building would have never been developed.
Western Hills High School would like to request approval to name the field house the "Ricky Harris III Fieldhouse".

Scholastic Book Fair-WRE
Westridge requests permission to host a Scholastic Book Fair beginning November 18th and running through December 15th. The book fair will be virtual with a few in-person days. The money raised will go towards supporting the library.

We are recommending shortened school day for five students on file. The ARC has followed the appropriate procedure for requesting a shortened school day.
