III.
Approve Architect Payment for Master Facility Plan
Fran Scott, Architect with Scott - Klausing & Company will provide an update on proposed development of a Master Facility Plan for the East side of the school district.
Working with the FCPS leadership, Scott-Klausing will document and map current campus existing conditions and design a Master Facility Plan to guide future designs for facilities and site improvements and as a guide for updating our District Facility Plan.
The fee for this service is $25,000.

Tax Hearing Information
The Franklin County Board of Education will hold a public hearing at the Board of Education Office on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. for the purpose of hearing public comments regarding a proposed general fund tax levy of 55 cents on real property and 55 cents on personal property.
The general fund tax levied in fiscal year 2008-09 was 53 cents on real property and 53 cents on personal property. The tax rate increase of 2 cents should generate an additional $1,078,423 over the 2008-09 revenue and will be allocated as follows:
$ 37,745 for tax collection
$576,956 for instruction
$241,567 for transportation
$222,155 for maintenance of facilities
Dr. Bob Wagoner will be with us on Monday, August 24, 2009 to discuss the proposed tax levy for 2009-10.

VI.
Approve Reading Recovery Teacher Leader Position
In order to continue our Read to Achieve Grant, we must select a Reading Recovery Teacher Leader for 2010-11. The position requires a year of extensive training through the University of Louisville. The salary for the Teacher Leader is covered by our Read to Achieve grant. The cost of the training will be paid through Title 1 funds. This is a 197 day position.
