III. Public Comments
Rationale

The Franklin County Board of Education has provided time in its agenda for individuals to make comments. Comments to the Board will be allowed up to a maximum of three (3) minutes. The Board does not allow comments on any matter dealing with personnel issues. Kentucky law states specifically that personnel matters are the responsibility of the Superintendent. On all personnel matters, you should contact the Superintendent of Schools. No questions, comments, or decisions/action related to public comments will be made by Board members at this time, unless the specific topic is on the agenda; however, the Board will listen to the comments and/or suggestions which may lead to a discussion of same at a future meeting. If an individual wishes for the Board to discuss and/or take action on a particular issue, they must follow the procedures outlined in Franklin County Board of Education Policy 10.2. The Superintendent or the designee will be able to assist in this request.

IV.A. Annual Data Privacy and Security Update
Rationale

702 KAR 1:170 requires that districts must annually acknowledge to their board that they have reviewed the latest best practice guide for data security. This is a summary of some of the practices that we employ to insure data security.

No action is needed.

IV.B. FCS Technology Plan for 2019-2020
Rationale

KDE and KETS have revised the format for District Technology Plans. FCS has updated the existing plan to meet the new format and will use this as a guide for 2019-2020 in regards to Technology and planning.

Rationale

Per the Accounting Procedures for Kentucky School Activity Funds (Redbook); the Board of Education is to approve all external support/booster organizations in each school.  The following Western Hills High School booster club has met the requirements to be approved as an external account. The school is housing their tax id, copy of insurance, budgets, and copy of a checking account with two signatures. Mr. Roush is recommending the Boys Golf external booster club be approved to open an external account.  Attached is a list of the booster officers.

VII.F.1. Community Soccer Camp- WHHS Boys Soccer
Rationale

The Western Hills Boys Soccer Team would like to have a community soccer camp on 4 different dates this fall.  The team would host camp on 8/15, 8/29, 9/10, and 9/20.  The times would be from 5:30-6:30 PM and there would be no cost.  The coaches and current players would supervise and work with the children to help increase interest and skill levels for soccer.  Location would be the practice field. 

VII.F.2. Cheerleader Kiddie Camp-WHHS
Rationale

The Western Hills Cheerleading team would like to request permission to host a Kiddie Camp from September 24-26 at the school from 5-7 PM.  The cost would be $45 if pre-registered and $50 at the door.  Ages K-5th grade.  All proceeds will go to the Cheerleading team.
